The consistent and encouraging growth of the vegan food and lifestyle market over recent years is evident to players across all industries. In 2018, the global value of vegan food – which includes plant-based alternatives for meat, egg, and dairy, was estimated by Grand View Research to be approximately US$12.7 billion. By 2025, this is estimated to almost double to around US$24 billion. Attending a VeggieWorld fair means you rub shoulders with vegan movers and shakers, even vegan celebrities who are lending their star power for the cause. Visitors are showered with healthy, natural, eco-friendly, and ethical alternatives from food to cosmetics, fashion to nutrition supplements, and household items, some of which are made with innovative methods and technologies. VeggieWorld places a strong emphasis on making all the events educational and informative. Among these presentations, as well as in the stalls, there are vegan chefs that enthusiastically take the lead to demonstrate how plant-based foods can be tasty, diverse, and creative. While VeggieWorld have steadily established and expanded into the European market over the last decade, they have also navigated towards the East. In 2019, VeggieWorld took their Expo to China, premiering in Hong Kong in March, Hangzhou in May, and Beijing in November the same year, followed by their Shanghai Expo in September 2020. Let’s go to the events and see how VeggieWorld has helped create a vital hub for this vast and rapid development to occur, by uniting local businesses with well-established international companies.
