In Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association Relief News: Update from India…

As in previous years, our Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) lovingly offered funds during the 2023 winter season to provide warmth and comfort to nomadic monks and nuns in the remote and mountainous areas of India. In addition to a winter relief amount of US$50,000, She also contributed US$24,000 in November 2023 to rebuild the huts of 21 monks who had lost their dwellings during autumn floods.

In May 2024, our Association members in India requested an additional US$3,000 to complete the construction of the huts and to buy other needed items for the monks, such as mosquito nets, beds, slippers, etc.

Master lovingly responded: “Accountant: please send them an extra US$10,000 for the requested sum; with the rest, buy vegan dry food to store for them. With all M’s love in God’s forever Grace. May the reverend monks be Blessed with abundant enlightenment to reach their lofty Goal. OM Shanti Shanti Om!”

Following is the updated report from our Association members.

Twenty-one huts have been constructed and handed over in several regions of Gujarat State along the banks of the holy River Narmada. The huts have been constructed with bamboo materials on land at a height above the river to safeguard against any possible future floods. The flooring is concrete, with carpet on top. Each hut has an attached bathroom, and inside the hut is a bed with a mosquito net, blanket, pillow, bedsheet, and some toiletries.

The recipient monks are very happy with their new huts and are very thankful to Master. Our team was also able to purchase vegan food items to give them. These included rice, dried peas, dried beans, dried mung beans, dried chickpeas, granulated wheat, flour, corn oil, jaggary, herb seasonings, salt, tea, and sugar. Due to the monks’ limited storage situation, we brought about one month’s supply of food items, with plans to return over the next several months to replenish the supplies. In addition, we gave them Master’s introductory booklet, “The Key to Immediate Enlightenment,” in their Gujarati language. The benefits and importance of the vegan diet were also explained to them.

We are very grateful to Compassionate Master for providing the monks with their new homes. After seeing some videos and pictures of the newly constructed huts, Master wrote: “Thank you. They are nice. Hope the reverend monks are comfy and happy.”

With sincerity and humility, we offer our heartfelt gratitude to Master for Her Love and Care for the holy Truth seekers. We also thank our Indian Association members for their contributions and efforts. May the Heavens continue to bestow abundant blessings upon these nomadic practitioners, whose steadfast dedication to renunciation of worldly attachments serves as an inspiring light for us all. Wishing that the spark of spiritual longing alights within all hearts, connecting humans everywhere with the Divine to realize the eternal Love of God.
