North Carolina, United States Abortions Decline by 31% Following New Law

Pro-life organizations welcome abortion declines in North Carolina, United States. A study has reported that in July 2023, there were 2,920 abortions performed in North Carolina compared to 4,230 in June 2023, a 31% decline. North Carolina also saw the largest drop nationwide. From July 1, 2023, North Carolina implemented a new statute that prohibits nearly all abortions after 12 weeks of pregnancy. This law requires a state-mandated consultation at the clinic 72 hours before the abortion procedure. The non-profit North Carolina Values Coalition (Coalition) is working to make the number of abortions zero.
